Since its founding in 1946, CH2M HILL has been building a better and more sustainable planet—delivering challenging projects that improve communities across the globe. While our reach is global, our touch is local as we volunteer time and money to give back to the communities in which we live and work.
CH2M HILL is a global leader in engineering, consulting, design, program management, construction and operations. We manage some of the world’s most complex and significant programs, including the Panama Canal expansion, infrastructure and facilities for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the relocation of U.S. military forces in South Korea, and major sewerage programs in London and Abu Dhabi. Through our work on these world-changing projects, we develop our people — who transform complex and creative ideas into reality, every day.
In addition, we work in our local communities providing clean drinking water, efficient transportation, lean production facilities, environmental remediation, and safe energy that provide economic benefits to communities across the globe.
The CH2M HILL enterprise is built on honesty, ethics, morals, and safety. Our founders strongly believed in doing the right thing for our clients and for our employees. Over a half century later, those values still play a big role in who we are and how we conduct our business.
Today we have a global presence, with more than 30,000 employees in offices worldwide, and the financial stability that goes along with it, with gross revenues of $7 billion U.S. in 2010. We continue to deliver exciting projects for our customers and a rewarding work environment for our employees. Join employee owned CH2M HILL to build a brighter future and discover why we are consistently ranked as one of the best companies to work for.

CH2M HILL began in 1946 as Cornell, Howland, Hayes and Merryfield in Corvallis, Oregon, USA, and soon morphed into CH2M—a name derived from the initials of the company's founders. Some 25 years later, CH2M merged with Clair A. Hill and Associates of Redding, California, USA, to form CH2M HILL.
Our Corporate Values
Founder and original CEO Jim Howland wrote the Little Yellow Book in 1982 to capture many of the values on which the firm was built. Every CH2M HILL employee owns a Little Yellow Book, because these values are as valid today as they were back then, and perhaps even more so.
