Saving Children in War-torn Rwanda

During the Rwandan civil war in the 1990s, a genocide killed 23,000 people in the village of Muhororo, Rwanda, leaving many children orphaned. CH2M HILL employee Tim McGarity volunteers with the EWB USA Cincinnati chapter and has taken on a project to provide clean drinking water to local orphanages. Working through another aid organization called Bridge to Rwanda, the EWB USA Cincinnati team evaluated site conditions and is developing and implementing a plan to improve water supply to three orphanages and their host villages.
